Dnd beholder lawsuit1/16/2024 ![]() ![]() The Dungeons & Dragons name was used for the simplified version of the game that followed from the Basic D&D rules and was incompatible with the more mainstream AD&D. Simultaneously, Advanced Dungeons & Dragons (AD&D) was published between 19, collecting rules from the original version and the supplements into three volumes, and extensively revising the system. This was replaced in 1977- 1980 with Basic, Expert, Companion, Master and Immortals D&D, which was mostly summarized in the late 1980s in the D&D Rules Cyclopedia. Supplements published in the next two years ( Greyhawk, Blackmoor, Eldritch Wizardry and Gods, Demi-Gods and Heroes) greatly expanded the character classes, monsters and spells. The first edition (1974) featured just a few character classes and monsters. However, "fantasy role-playing" loosely based on the world of D&D continues to dominate the field of role-playing games as of 2005.Įdition history Main article: Differences between editions of Dungeons & Dragons.ĭ&D has gone through several revisions. ![]() Science fiction, horror, superheroes, cartoons, westerns, spies and espionage, and many other fictional settings were adapted to role-playing games, with several of these games also being published by TSR. The cover of the D&D Basic Set, 2nd printing, showcases some of the rather amateurish artwork the game featured in its early years.ĭ&D took the world of wargaming by storm, creating its own niche and giving birth to a multitude of role-playing games, based on every genre imaginable. Players could then have a class (fighter, wizard, etc.) or choose one of the demi-humans, which came with their own sets of abilities that resembled either a fighter (dwarf), a fighter/magic-user (elves) or a fighter/thief (halflings). Players could choose to have their characters be Halflings, Dwarves, or Elves later versions termed these three " races" as "demi-humans". The original D&D game allowed players to play characters in three classes: fighters, magic-users ( wizards), and clerics (priests). The players embarked upon imaginary adventures in which they would battle many kinds of fictional monsters from goblins to ten foot gelatinous cubes, while gathering treasure and experience points as the game progressed. Dungeons & Dragons departed from traditional wargaming by giving each player the part of one figure, or character. The game developed the RPG concept of a referee, the Dungeon Master (the same role often being called Game Master in other similar games) who creates the fictional setting of the game, plays antagonists and supporting characters, and moderates the action of the adventures. Nevertheless, Tolkien, Vance (whose Dying Earth stories were a major influence on the magic system) and perhaps Leiber should probably be regarded as the major influences. His favorite time of the day is mail time when he receives a letter from Mailbox. Within the first two seasons (some in the second), he would give out wrong and silly answers during thinking time, much to Blue's dismay, even in "Blue's Big Musical", "Blue's Big Costume Party", and "Blocks". When he finishes a game of Blue's Clues, he sits in a giant red armchair called the Thinking Chair and comes up with possible solutions to Blue's puzzles. Whenever he finds a clue, he draws it on a pocket-sized pad of paper called the Handy Dandy Notebook. ![]() He's always excited and prepared to play Blue's Clues, but can almost never find clues himself and relies on the viewer to help locate them. Steve (played by Steve Burns) is the host for the show's first four seasons.Johnson was cast as the character's voice because out of the crew, she was able to sound the most like a dog. In most animated appearances, she is one of the series' creators. In the sixth season, she is granted a magic playroom called Blue's Room in which she can interact with the viewer and a cast of live-action puppet characters. She has the ability to enter storybooks and picture frames by "skidooing" into them with a special dance routine. In each episode, she plays a game called Blue's Clues, in which she leaves three blue paw print clues for the host and viewers to find in order to answer a question. She cannot talk but communicates with her owners, Steve, Joe, and Josh, through barks that they interpret based on her tone and expression. Porter cable router used1/16/2024 ![]() The scale can be used to track the maximum plunge depth of the router. This method is more repeatable and accurate than the light tap other routers require.Īt the top of the rod there is a built in depth scale with a movable pointer. If you want to change the plunge depth by just a hair, rotate the insert a quarter turn. This piece changes the length of the rod as it turns on the threads milled into the rod. A 1/4" height change is never more than a turn away.įor making extra fine adjustments there is a threaded insert at the bottom of the depth rod. This feature comes in handy when making stock cuts. The fifth is a custom depth stop that can be adjusted with a screwdriver. Four of the five positions adjust the plunge depth 1/4" at a time for a maximum change of 1". The stop block in the base rotates and locks into place in five position. Porter Cable added a few features that take the basic design a little further. So far this is standard fair found on many other routers. The router bottoms out when the rod hits a stop block built into the base of the router. A set screw allows the rod to be moved up or down independently of the base. A rod on the left side of the router limits the maximum plunge depth of the unit. The depth stop of the 450PK follows a design found on many DeWalt and Porter Cable plunge router. If you have your doubts, you can further firm up the lock by pushing the lever beyond the position the spring moves it to. The lever secures the router motor very firmly. Since the lock lever is out of the way, both hands are free to guide the router through a cut. This system makes quick changes in depth very easy. Simply releasing the lever locks the router in place. To change the depth of the router the user must push the lever toward the handle with his thumb and hold it there. The plunge mechanism is locked by default. It adds significant value to the package and increases the accuracy of the router, especially over time. Locking the latch does not move the motor, like can on split-base models. The motor is secured in the same place every time. This system is one of the best available today. It holds the motor in place without deforming the base. Like the motor mount of the fixed base, the mount of the plunge base is exceptional. The depth adjustment ring of the fixed base is not used, but can remain on the motor as long as it is position high enough on the motor as to not interfere with the plunge base. ![]() The motor slides into the base and bottoms out on a metal lip. The plunge base follows the design of many other Proter Cable routers. Like the plunge base performance suffers as the bit gets larger. It combines full size router performance with the agility of a trim router. ![]() In this configuration the 450 is one of the best trim routers out there. The user can make fine adjustments with ease. The depth adjustment feature is supremely accurate and easy to use. Built from a single piece of metal it secures the motor better than just about any other base. The fixed base is one of best fixed base designs out there. The single speed setting spoils what would have been near perfect marks. With a soft start feature, a built-in spindle lock, and full metal body it is a well built unit. ![]() The motor is very powerful for such a small router. The motor unit and fixed base have been reviewed in depth in the review of the fixed-base version, the Porter Cable 450. The 450PK kit comes with a motor, a fixed base, a plunge base, and a cloth storage bag. The Porter Cable 450PK compact router kit Let's take a look at what the plunge kit can do. The fixed base model certainly left a good impression. We heard rumors that this base turns the 450 into one of the best plunge routers available today. This version adds a plunge base to the package. The second part of this week's Porter Cable 450 review is a closer look at the kit version, the Porter Cable 450PK. ![]()

Krita change color of text1/16/2024 ![]() It must work on a gradient colour 2 15 comments Add a Comment IceDryst 6 yr. ![]() Is there an equivalent or workaround in Krita P.S. Fill Tool is used to fill color, gradient or pattern in a closed image and. However there is one tool that I can't seem to find and that is Replace Colour. If you aren’t familiar with markdown codes, don’t worry. by basedlecturer Replace Colour in Krita Hi guys, having fun trying out Krita and pretty happy with it as a Photoshop replacement. Discord users can learn and execute markdown codes to change the color of their chat messages. Note: The ‘Group of White Fur Layers’ isn’t strictly necessary but it’s easy to do and it helps to emphasise the arrangement and makes it easier to move things around. Did you know you can change the text color on Discord Admittedly, it isn’t as easy as clicking a text color icon as in Word or Google Docs. If you need make less intense color, just change the opacity of brush and in the thin places change the size of brush. You can adjust the opacity of the beige layer to get the depth of tint needed. Here’s a simple example image showing two white ‘fur’ layers tinted beige with the effect isolated to those two white layers. Then again, maybe a slight beige tint on the harness wouldn’t be noticeable or wouldn’t matter if you did group the fur layers and the harness all together. Background color will change the fill of the selected vector (in case of text, probably nothing). For our first example we use the Krita text editor creating one letter at a time each one containing its own color. You can select the text using Shape Tool and then change the Foreground color (the same that you change to paint with a different color). The second way to change the color of an image in Krita is to use the Colorize tool. ![]() These tools allow you to selectively change the hue, saturation, and lightness of an image. If the harness is in between them, you’d do two groups for the two sets of white fur layers. In this Krita video we show four examples of placing different colors into text. The first is to use the color adjustment tools located in the Adjustments tab of the Krita toolbar. If all your white fur layers are contiguous and that harness isn’t between them, you could group them all for isolation purposes. You’d have to isolate that arrangement in a group and also use alpha inheritance on the beige tint layer (because of the way in which transparency is treated with Multiply blending mode). For a white/grey layer, you can put a beige tint on it by putting a beige layer on top and setting that tint layer to Multiply blending mode. ![]()

Redshift data sharing1/15/2024 ![]() ![]() In a separate article, " Implementing multi-tenant patterns in Amazon Redshift using data sharing", AWS explains how the new data sharing feature of Amazon Redshift can be used to implement an Analytics as a Service solution with a multi-tenant architecture. With Data Sharing, you can isolate diverse workloads across different Amazon Redshift clusters while still sharing live, transactionally consistent data by leveraging Redshift Managed Storage across these clusters without the complexity and delays associated with data copies and data movement. ![]() While it is possible to create multiple datashares on the same Amazon Redshift database, Amazon Redshift associates each datashare with a single database: superusers and database owners can create datashares and only objects from the associated database can be added to a datashare.Īmazon identifies four major user cases for sharing, not all of them related to cost optimization: sharing data from a central cluster in a hub-spoke architecture, sharing data among multiple business groups where each cluster can be a producer of some data but also can be a consumer of other datasets, sharing data as a service across the organization and with external companies and finally sharing data between development, test, and production environments.Īn important step for Redshift that enables easy onboarding of new use cases without the need for copying data from one cluster to another.ĭebu Panda, product manager at AWS, adds: Queries accessing shared data provide live access to the data but are run using the compute resources of the consumer cluster without impacting the performance of the producer cluster. This allows the use of a single data warehouse cluster for multi-cluster deployments and sharing data instantly without the need to copy or move them. Amazon has recently announced the general availability of the Amazon Redshift Data Sharing functionality to share live data across Amazon Redshift clusters. ![]()
